mission statement

Our mission and purpose is to support the educational and cultural work of the nonprofit “Association Tyabala de Guinée”, also known as “l’école fula flute”, through fundraising, providing administrative assistance, and giving advice and guidance on matters such as curriculum development, instrument fabrication, student and teacher recruitment, show management and promotion, touring, accounting, and budgeting matters, and, in addition, to strive to create pathways for students in Guinea to exchange with other students in the United States and all around the world. Our mission also includes promoting the musical literacy program developed by Sylvain Leroux based on the “qromatica” a modern version of the traditional Fula flute.
